Are you suffocated by the various stresses of life? Bearing all kinds of burdens, taking on multiple roles and responsibilities, have you forgotten to care for yourself? We feel exhausted, because we do not know our own limits. We are only humans, we surely have limits. When we clearly know our own limits, and completely accepted ourselves as is, that’s when we can set ourselves free from that heaviness sitting on our chest. Only when we can completely accept ourselves, can we truly be who we are, and be capable of caring for others, with love. Let’s breathe in and breath out with love, this world will turn out more beautiful. The best moment is the present, now. Everything I need is already here. It’s here, in between the breathing in, and the breathing out. When we completely accept ourselves, we can then completely accept others. This world needs acceptance and understanding, because every one of us longed for acceptance and understanding. When we can experience the deepest calmness in our hearts, we can then spread this calmness to everything we do, whether it is a big matter or a small matter. The greatest loving-kindness for the world starts with the loving-kindness toward oneself. Every single person can do it, now. Let’s start! The practice of mindfulness is a practical way to let us cleanse our hearts at a time that we want. When we take good care of our emotions, we can then let them go. When we can completely accept and see ourselves, we can then have space to accept others. A beautiful world needs more people who have big hearts. Save the world, save the planet, save the society – these are all important causes, but can we save ourselves first? Only when we can forgive ourselves, accept ourselves, and pardon ourselves, can we have the strength to support ourselves. We practise to accept our own limitation, but also to expand our capability to accept others. This is a precious skill to learn. Are you ready to learn this skill with Teacher Upul? 【心靈篇】在止語禪修營自我療癒 五天不說話真的很難捱?!
小妹非常有幸於上周參加了「綠活地圖」舉辦的止語禪修營。這個禪修營是好友林麗珊(《給孩子一個無毒的家》作者)主辦,其實早於八年前已聽過她說參加這個禪修營,但我一直覺得五天去禪修實在太奢侈了,直至半年前我的抑鬱症爆發,我一看到這個活動便立即報名。如果我在八年前學懂這一個方法,我的抑鬱症應該早已痊癒。   甚麼是止語?   止語不是單單不說話這麼簡單。因為單是不說話,有時候可以很冷漠及傷害別人。止語其實叫Noble Silence,是學習帶著愛與慈悲,不發一言地進行各種活動。默不作聲的好處是我們能夠把重心回歸自己,專注自己的情緒及身體的感受。雖然大家也是默不作聲地進行所有活動,如早午晩餐、工作禪(農耕、清潔海灘和打掃)、坐禪站禪行禪等,但是心裏是帶著愛與關懷的。所以,即使是打掃、執垃圾、清理雜草等厭惡性工作,原來在全神專注投入及懷著一個感恩的心的情況下去做,是多麼的療癒。   入營之前我確有擔心過五天的禪營是否會很難捱,但是在開始了之後我就感受到前所未有的自在。原來不用說話數天,好好與自己相處是多麼的美好。 帶領這個禪營的是來自斯里蘭卡的烏普老師,他是Godwin Spiritual Friends 的主持人。在眾多禪修環節裏我最喜愛的就是晚上的心靈啟迪講座,老師會即興說出一些人生道理,每一晩也不同。   不知是機緣巧合還是宇宙的神聖安排,老師每一個晚上說的主題正正是我在思考的人生課題,例如了解個人限制的重要、自我管理情緒、如何在紛亂的世界中找到自己的平靜等等。我明白了如何接受自己限制的重要,這樣才能在平靜中提升自己的能力。而且明白做人的最終目的,就是要覺醒,學習Mindfulness,每天帶著覺知去腳踏實地的生活。   老師還說,如果不覺醒(Be Mindful) ,人與石頭根本無異,在哪裏根本也是一樣,只是過著機械般的生活;我們能夠生為人類,是一個非常寶貴的機會去修行。修行是一個不能假手於人的事情,這不論你是誰。唯有努力修行,我們才能獲得自由。每一個人也擁有選擇修行的權利。一旦體驗到自身內在的力量,我們才能夠真正的達到平靜和諧,因為在這這時候我們會擁有一個開放的心,明白他人及知道自己的限制並且能夠原諒別人和接受當下的每一刻。   真正的和平,原來由自己開始。   如果人們的內心不平靜,就會顯化成外在衝突。世界上所有的衝突也是源於人們內心不能平靜。人們找不到平靜就沒有能力包容及聆聽他人,只會偏執己見,不會把心開放去尋求一個真正的解決辦法。   要面對日常生活的種種挑戰及時刻保持覺醒是不容易,但是老師說我們的努力是會有回報的。剛剛開始修行會覺得很困難,因為我們開始為自己負責任,而不是把自己的遭遇推向别人。要自我承擔是很困難,因為其中包括很大的慈悲,尤其是對自己慈悲,原諒自己的過失並要努力嘗試不重蹈覆徹。世上大部分的人也只會把責任推到別人身上,因為這樣比較容易及輕鬆。人們當然可以選擇這樣做,但是這樣便不會有成長。然後日復日,年復年,我們遇到的問題只會一次又一次的重複發生。我們每一次也以為這是最後一次,但是原來我們要做的只是改變自己,否則事情只會重複,無限輪迴,直到永遠。   希望大家也能找到掌握命運的力量。:)   如果大家有興趣參加明年的止語禪營,歡迎電郵給我。請註明:有興趣索取2018年止語禪修營活動資訊。我會把你加入電郵名單。合十。   以下是更多關於烏普老師及綠活地圖的資料:   1. 佛門網《越簡樸 越快樂:專訪禪修導師烏普居士》   2. 綠活地圖 Face Book
