Workshop on searching for Masanobu Fukuoka's Natural Farming

夏日旺盛的自然裡，慢下來五感體驗，喚醒心內自然，探索《一根稻草的革命》作者福岡正信所提倡的自然農法，共同思考自然農法與當今社會飲食文化與生活的關連。
好家庭菜園的Kevin，早前到泰北學習受Larry Korn老師啟發，他曾於四十多前跟隨過福岡正信投入其自然農田學習，也參與將《一根稻草的革命》翻譯成英語推廣至世界各地…
這次工作坊，除了有關兩位前輩與自然農法的經歷，同時在好家庭菜園在地實踐，以種子球（seed balls）復育環境。Kevin也會分享這四年多好家庭菜園如何一步步嘗試走向與自然共生栽種的路，當中成敗喜樂與艱辛。

好家庭菜園共同創辦人，新市鎮裡長大，從小到大對農田的認識與接觸其實小之又小…
8、9年前開始耕種，興趣與體會日深，慢慢全身投入，於2013年與拍檔開始好家庭菜園，除了在東涌開墾社區農田，也作為食農與自然教育基地，慢慢由東涌到香港以至澳門不同的校園、機構等分享栽種，又曾往台灣、印度、泰國等地交流學習。

During this summer, let's slow down the pace to get in touch with nature and the nature in your heart. From nature to go through the idea of natural farming by Masanobu Fukuoka, author of the influential book on natural farming "One-straw revolution". Sharing together and co-thinking how to connect natural farming to the food culture and daily living nowadays.
Kevin Shum, the co-founder of Good Family Farm has been to Northern Thailand to learn about natural farming by Larry Korn recently. Inspired by Larry, who followed and learned in Mr. Fukuoka's farm in the 1970s and translated the "One-straw revolution" into English to bring about the worldwide recognition on Mr. Fukuoka's methods and philosophy.
In this workshop, we will share the stories of the two teachers on natural farming and try to practice in Good Family Farm to regenerate the environment by seed balls. Kevin will also share the experiences and the things to learn from in the past four years on how to get more and more consideration with the natural environment in growing.

*This workshop will be conducted in Cantonese mainly, but with supplement in English in case of participant need.*
About Kevin Shum：
Co-founder of Good Family Farm, who grow up in the city and with few connections with farming during childhood and young ages.
In about 8, 9 years ago, he begins organic farming in allotment, and getting more involved. In 2013, he established Good Family Farm with a few partners, rehabilitate the land into an organic community farm in Tung Chung, Lantau Island of Hong Kong. The place also become a base on food & agricultural education. From Tung Chung to different schools, institutions, etc. in Hong Kong and Macau, to share about urban farming as well. He also enjoys in learning, traveling and making new connections with peoples in different countries, including to Taiwan, India and Thailand in past few years.
